TWO members of Britpop icons, Ocean Colour Scene, are set to headline the Citadel next month.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Simon Fowler will be joined by the band’s drummer, Oscar Harrison, on the special night which, will see classic OCS songs performed in a unique, acoustic style.

Ocean Colour Scene first rose to fame in the mid-90s when the band supported Manchester heroes Oasis on a nationwide tour, bringing the band to the attention of several record labels.

Since then the band has had five Top 10 albums and six Top 10 singles, including The Day We Caught The Train, Hundred Mile High City and Better Day.

Simon Fowler said: “The acoustic shows are a great chance to look the audience in the eye and interact with them on a more personal basis than ever before.”

Tickets for the gig on Saturday, October 20, are sold out. To see similar events coming up at the Citadel visit citadel.org.uk or call the box office on 01744 735436.
