Miss Teen Prescot wins place in pageant final

A Prescot teenager is set to represent her county in a national beauty pageant this weekend. Samantha Daley has won a place in the grand final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2012.

Samantha has seen off competition from hundreds of young girls to win a place in the grand final. Sixty teenage girls will compete for the Miss Teen Great Britain crown at The Globe Theatre at Blackpool Pleasure Beach this Sunday, September 30.

The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will receive an amazing package including a £1,000 cash prize, £500 to spend at The Dress Studio, a modelling portfolio with FAB Photoshoots, make-up from Beauty UK, products from I Love…Cosmetics, a two-night break at a Puma Hotel, shoes, bags and more.

Miss Teen Great Britain is quite different to the stereotypical beauty contest. Organiser Holly Ikin said: “Miss Teen Great Britain is about much more than a pretty face – we do not call Miss Teen Great Britain a beauty contest. “The aim of the competition is to cele-brate teenagers, their ambitions and their achievements. Fifty per cent of the judging is based on an interview – it’s the girls’ personality that truly counts.”

All the girls will also be raising money for the event’s nominated charity, the Claire House Children’s Hospice, through various fundraising events.
