Project puts Parr on the map

THE first examples of a pioneering project which aims to put Parr on the map are being showcased at an exhibition at Parr Library.

A Place In Parr uses film, photography, social media, online mapping and other digital technologies to transform internet references to Parr from negative to positive.

This summer artists Caroline Ward and Erinma Ochu visited Parr to work with local people to create a film about the people and places in the area that made a difference to the community.

Their work forms the basis of the exhibition, which opens to the public at 4pm.

The people behind the project are Resource Productions, which has been working with people in the area aged 16 to 30 to bring the project to life.

Workshops and drop-in activities at community venues across Parr were organised so people could try their hand at photography, social media and filmmaking.

The project is commissioned by St Helens Council and funded by Arts Council England.

Not seen many of them around lately!!! Is that the ones queuing outside the post office waiting to be 'paid' their dole or the ones firing guns in residential areas?!?!?
