Saints fan Lorraine sings with Military Wives

YEARS of cheering on Saints from the terraces at Knowsley Road, helped ‘Light up the Senses’ of Lorraine Mason, who is one of the voices heard on the new Military Wives Choir album.

Lorraine, 37 and originally from St Helens, joined the Dishforth Military Wives Choir in North Yorkshire in February this year. July saw the choir record the Stronger Together album, released on November 5.

Earlier this month, Lorraine with 600 other members of military choirs from across the country filmed a video at Wellington Barracks in London.

Lorraine said: “It’s been such a fantastic experience to share my day with over 600 other military wives. I was proud to represent myself, my husband, my family and friends.

“I think years of singing in the stands of Knowsley road gave me the motivation to sing loud and proud; it truly did ‘light up my senses’."

Military Wives choirs have gained popularity in the past twelve months following the Christmas number one that was achieved last year.
