RESIDENTS can have their say on air quality in town.

St Helens has four Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) monitored to coincide with Government objectives regarding pollution.

In particular, the emission of nitrogen dioxide has been assessed and these objectives have been exceeded.

The Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP), live from mid-October, focuses on two areas – the M6 and High Street, Newton-le-Willows, however, other areas have been proposed projects for the wider community.

Readers can contribute to the consultation to improve the quality of air within St Helens.

Visit sthelens .gov.uk/airquality from Monday, October 15, when the scheme goes live.

Strange, we are all breathing the air in St Helens and as we are not dropping like flies, I can only conclude their is nothing wrong with it. For AQAP read... another chance to have ago at the motorist or introduce some new revenue raising taxes on business's based on ' helping the environment " lies.
