Community service for benefit cheat

A WOMAN who fraudulently claimed more than £15,000 in benefits has been sentenced to 150 hours community service.

Lisa Sturman, 35, from Ellison Drive, Newton-le-Willows pleaded guilty to five offences of benefit fraud.

She had failed to tell the Department for Work and Pensions and St Helens Council that her employed husband was living with her, resulting in a combined overpayment of £15,193.63.

wow thats a real deterant that makes sure no one ill try that again, not a bad job hourly rate that £15.000 for 150 hours a little under 4 weeks work

Poor woman she is the victim, its all societies fault.

Whats a bit of benefit fraud set against the rich bankers and tories avoiding tax?

Its all the governments money anyway right ? does not cost anything she is just taking money off the government who have loads of money spend on wars and fings. That right init Sharon?

I think you will find that she has to repay it as well as the unpaid work otherwise we would all do it!

if they get it back...one in the nationals today, 9 kids and falsley claiming she was alone got charged..But the DHSS admit they will never get it all back

Well, when we get the Chancellor of the Exchequer doing Community Service for fiddling his MP's allowance I may join in the pointless condemnation. Britain has bigger problems than 3 billion a year in benefit fraud,error and overpayments, 700 millon of which is recovered- just over a billion is down to fraud. But if it keeps the plebs off the governments back job done.

See what your your saying PM , but I'd still rather have the bankers and chancellor - at least they pay some tax , probably more in a year than this thing will pay in a lifetime.
