Two in critical condition after Dream motorbike crash Two in critical condition after Dream motorbike crash

A TEENAGER and a man are fighting for their lives in hospital today after a horrific crash between two off road motorbikes on land near the Dream sculpture.

The 15-year-old boy and man, who is aged 28, are both in a critical condition in hospital after a collision yesterday afternoon (Sunday, September 16).

Both were airlifted to Aintree Hospital via air ambulance from the land near Sutton Manor shortly after 3.35pm.

A third man, aged 19, was taken by ambulance to Whiston Hospital with serious injuries, however, his condition is not thought to be life threatening at this time.

The M62 was closed in both directions to allow emergency services to access the scene. The three victims are from the Clock Face area, police confirmed.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is continuing.

Police chiefs have urged witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman said: “It is thought that there were a number of people at the scene at time the of the collision and the site is clearly visible from the M62.

“Police are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen the collision or the bikes in the area earlier.”

Anyone with information is asked to call traffic investigators on 0151 777 5444 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

I thought it was illegal to ride motor cross bikes on common land. I hope the police take the correct action and prosecute those involved.

@tattyer Let's not forget that two "of those involved" are in critical condition. I'm sure the number one priority at the moment is seeing the guys back to health.

Let's forget about the legal stuff for a moment and wish the boys a full recovery.

Oh come on, have a heart. One of the boys is 15 years old for gods sake!

They were not burglars, they were riding their bikes somewhere they shouldn't have been. They hardly deserve to be lay in a hospital bed fighting for their lives!

Would you be saying that if they'd have ploughed into a child? Motorbike vs 6 year old - doesn't bear thinking about.
Absolute menaces, they are.

3:55pm Mon 17 Sep 12

All I'm saying is.. what they were doing may have been illegal, but it wasn't the crime of the century and they certainly don't deserve to be in a critical condition.

I'm pretty sure they'll think twice about doing the same thing again. No-one else was hurt but the guys who were riding the bikes, so we really don't need to be saying things like "break the law, pay the consequences".

Are you telling me that if one of these lads was your child, you'd still say/think the same?
And don't give me none of the "my kids wouldn't do anything stupid, illegal, dangerous blah blah" cause no child is perfect and the kids that are brought up in the best way possible still make silly decisions sometimes.

Anyway as I said, I really hope they all make a full recovery and get well soon.

My sympathies lie more with the family of the young girl killed on the M62 by someone going the wrong way.

Imagine if this incident had happened just after the scrambler bikes incident with all those emergency services tied up with people who were carrying out illegal activities.

I hope that whether or not it was my child I would have the sense to condem their actions.

Terrible to hear about this and I hope they have a speedy recovery.

For a long time people have used scrambler bikes on the Dream site when they know they shouldn't be doing so. More action is definitely needed to prevent people using scrambler bikes in unauthorised areas. It doesn't surprise me at all an accident has occured involving scrambler bikes based on what I have witnessed in the past while walking in the area around Dream.

Whilst their actions may have been illegal and silly, at the end of the day there are still 3 injured people here, 2 who at the minute are fighting for their lives. maybe some of u should spend your time praying for them and sending positive thoughts to their family members (which i am one of) rather than moaning about what menaces they are. there will be time to focus on their punishments at a later date. im sure your not that heartless to say that one of the consequences of their mistakes is to be lying in a hospital bed fighting for their lives.at the end of the day, thankfully no one else was involved and luckily no innocent passer bys where harmed. stop focusing on the what could have been and instead focus on the what has. yes 3 lads were out on motorbikes doing something they shouldnt have been, they had a tragic accident but they certainly do not deserve to be where they are. all of u sitting there preaching have surely made mistakes in your lives that you regret!!

as a 19 year old boy i can assure the choice to own a motorbike was a decision he made as an adult. at the end of the day 'frankly' you dont know the details of what happened and only know what u have read or what rumours u have heard. u dont know the people involved and are making out like they are vicious criminals, which i can certainly assure you neither one of them are. they are lads who have made a wrong decision and who will now have to sadly live with the consequences. we are certainly not asking for ur sympathy as you are no-one to us. get off your soap box and spare a thought for all the people who this is affecting. think about the poor mother who had to stand there yesterday and watch while her son was airlifted to hospital, and the other family members who are now keeping a bedside vigil praying for their loved one. clearly you feel u have lived a sin free life, something which i find hard to believe. you are sayign they 'could have' injured others. fact is they didnt! they injured themselves. it 'could have' easuly been your family member who chose to get on that bike. would you still be preaching then!!

Rant over I just hope all injured make a full recovery my heart is with everybody involved .

i find this absolutely disgusting that you think that its okay to write such things when 2 of these people are in critical condition. Everyone can accept the fact that they was in the wrong for what they have done but to start talking legally about this before we even know if any of the 2 lads will come out of it alive is beyond me!! Sometimes i wonder how people sleep at night when making such comments, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves, if it was your 15 year old child in that position would you respect these posts? omg never read such horrible things, lets get this right they where on a field riding motorbikes not on a road in a street or riding round a play area, i would rather them be riding round a field than taking drugs drinking and mugging people, it gives them something to do which is alot better than drinkin on street corners if u ask me, wish them both a full recovery

couldnt agree more law. at the end of the day whats right or wrong doesnt matter at the moment. what matters is 3 people....2 fighting for their lives and 1 seriously injured..all with loving familes and friends who dont need to be reading comments slating the lads. we need support and prayers. riding an off road bike is not the crime of the century. i can think of much worse things they could have been doing, they were off the streets doing something they enjoyed and sadly it ended with an accident!

Should the council also provide facilities for those who wish to indulge in dog fights or those people who want to razz around in stolen cars. Should they provide some where for people to do illegal drugs or enjoy an underage drink.?
i think that everyone has clearly stated that your idiotic comments are not wanted, nor are they relevant, like sue said the family want to hear prayers not people slating the lads! get off your high horse as there is people fighting for their lives, although by the looks of things you havent even took that into consideration you idiotic prat!

I see the upright liberals have taken to the board, reporting comments and having peoples views removed. Why did we fight two world wars to retain freedom of speech ?
So you want to live in a lawless society, where one persons self gratification must be allowed regardless of any possible consequences. Well try remembering that some of us don't want to live like that. The level of name calling on here seems to go hand in hand with the ' law broken so what " attitude being displayed.

Were the Police our £32,000+ a Year Police-State 'Enforcers' involved in chasing the Guys-Lads? I was 'told' they were just before the Crash (but hear no mention of this in Press or TV!) if so- correct that may explain their excess Speed-Recklessness on poor gravel covered slippy ground.Yes according to many above any Teenage Lad learning to ride or about bikes is a wicked deserving Years in Jail, the fact is recently Police Press & Courts have been Criminalising Lads especially from poorer areas labeling them as Chav's etc.
Speeding causes many UK Deaths every Year, do none of these 'perfect Citizens' we hear writing above ever drive over these Limits? I think they do! .
I am 51 Years but when 16 Years old me & Mate used to push our bike for Miles to ride off road. We learnt how to ride & how to fix them. Occasionally those watchful Cops would stop us & check it wasn't stolen or used on the Road but to their credit always let us go on, these Days it would be taken-Seized & crushed instantly Nay Gleefully, no wonder they want to get away from Authorities to ride another Day I don't see may Fun Leisure Activities for our Young Guys and we Boys do Love our Big Boys Toys whether it's a £40,000 BMW an Audi or a £50 scrambler-Quad.
