A SQUAD of young troops enjoyed an action-packed 12 days at an annual camp in Crowborough, Sussex.

One hundred St Helens youngsters were among 400 Merseyside Army cadets who got stuck into activities, including watermanship, paintball, dry skiing, abseiling and camp craft.

They also had the chance to complete Duke of Edinburgh Awards and first aid qualifications.

Meals were prepared by a team of ex-Gurkhas and the camp was supported by a Regular Army Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment training team.
