SAINTS players are urging supporters to help play a part in raising more than £10 million for people affected by cancer – by enjoying coffee and cake.

Macmillan Cancer Support is hoping more than 200 people in the town will take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise cash to fund its vital cancer services.

Saints’ team met up with Muggy, Macmillan’s mascot, at Langtree Park to lend support to the event, which takes place on Friday, September 28.

Saints forward Jon Wilkin said: “It is a fantastic idea. It’s a really easy way for people to help raise money for a very worthy cause.”

Gillian Wilson, a Macmillan’s fundraising manager, said: “You can tailor it to suit yourself.

“If you can’t do it on September 28 then just pick another day.

“If you’re not keen on coffee and would rather have cocktails or even herbal tea that’s fine.”
