Planning green light paves the way for pool hall

PLANS to convert part of a shopping arcade to a pool hall have got the go-ahead.

The basement of the Barrow Arcades on Claughton Street, St Helens will be transformed after St Helens Council granted planning permission.

Amazing to think that 20 years ago, the floors above Barrow Arcade were a pool hall, with the entrance at the side in Barrow Street, now it's moved downstairs to Ooby Doo, everything comes full circle eventually!
