Last chance to enter Solar King Pride of St Helens Awards

STAR readers are today being urged to get their entries in for the inaugural Solar King Pride of St Helens Awards as the deadline fast approaches.

There are 11 categories for the awards, organised by the Steve Prescott Foundation and media partners, the St Helens Star.

A glittering night awaits at Langtree Park on Friday, October 12, when the winners will be announced.

There have been nearly 200 entries submitted so far but the charity and the Star are urging people to get more in ahead of a 6pm deadline tonight (Friday).

Organisers have extended three of the awards closing dates until 2pm on Monday (September 10), as more entries are expected over the weekend.

They are: The St Helens Star Excellence in Business Award, the Typhoo Emergency Services Hero, and the St Helens College Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

Entries for the remaining eight categories must be in by 6pm tonight. You can enter via the website prideofsthelens.co.uk or by submissions in writing to the St Helens Star, on Hardshaw Street.
