Keep the Dream warm
KNITTERS are being urged to help raise money for Willowbrook Hospice – by making a giant scarf to keep the Dream sculpture warm over winter.
St Helens Women’s Institute wants Star readers to knit a piece which will eventually be draped around the neck of the sculpture at the finale Of Willowbrook’s ‘Dream Walk Of Hope’ on Saturday, September 29.
Helen Costello, president of St Helens WI, said: “With winter coming Dream needs to keep warm with a scarf.
“The council loved the idea and suggested we tie it in with raising money for Willowbrook.
“We need 20cm x 20cm squares. They can be knitted or crocheted. It doesn’t matter what stitch you use, just as long as they are the right size.
“You can use any kind of yarn (wool, cotton, acrylic etc) and any thickness. The scarf will only be in situ for the day so come along for the walk, bring your cameras, and raise money for Willowbrook.”
