Dreams reputation continues to soar
DREAM appeared on prime time TV again last week highlighting the connection between art and the community.
Alex Riley from BBC’s the One Show took a stroll up the former mine at Sutton Manor last Wednesday to see for himself the stunning artwork by world renowned Catalan artist Jaume Plensa.
Gary Conley, the ex-miner at Sutton Manor and Dream’s biggest champion explained: “They were filming for a future feature on public art and the benefits it brings to a local community.
“They were really impressed with what had been achieved in bringing a world class sculpture by a renowned artist, through external funding sources, into a small town like ours and works of art like Dream are normally associated with major towns and cities.
“I stressed in the interview that for me Dream gives St Helens a unique identity.”
