Man will face court over supermarket race hate allegations

A MAN has been issued with a summons to appear before a magistrates’ court over allegations a supermarket security guard was racially abused.

It follows a CCTV appeal over an incident at the Tesco store in Cronton Road Prescot, which happened after a security guard challengd a man over anti-social behaviour.

Police say that 32-year-old man from Whiston attended a police station voluntarily where he was interviewed under caution by detectives.

A police spokesman said a man had been reported for summons to court to face a racially aggravated Section 5 public order offence.
