Stabbed dog gets new home

A DOG, which was left for dead after being stabbed several times, has found a new home.

The lurcher/greyhound crossbreed was discovered by neighbours weak and lying in pain on a field at the Duckeries in Ashtons Green.

It was taken to a vet and put in holding kennels to recover from its ordeal.

Dog wardens said that apart from injuries, it had also been mistreated over a period of time. The dog is believed to be around four-years-old and wasn’t microchipped.

The story provoked revulsion among Star readers, who expressed disgust at such an act of cruelty.

The council still hopes that someone will come forward, who knows the dog or its former owner, so a full investigation can be carried out.

Information received will be reported to the RSPCA, hopefully resulting in criminal proceedings.
