Roads closed due to flooding

TORRENTIAL downpours has caused more flooding in St Helens today.
Road closures are in place on Warrington Road in Rainhill and Peasley Cross Lane, Peasley Cross.
Latest traffic bulletins state that the A57 Warrington Road is closed both ways due to flooding between Mill Lane and B5419 Wilmere Lane.
Meanwhile, Peasley Cross Lane is closed both ways due to flooding at the dip under the railway bridge.
As the Star reported, a driver had to be rescued from beneath the bridge by fire crews after flash flooding on Tuesday.
