Get your skates on call to kids

OUR youth service is running its popular skate park activities throughout the summer holidays across the borough.

The skate parks – open to 10 to 17 year-olds – offer a chance for youngsters to try their tricks and skills on a bike, skateboard or scooter.

Events take place in St Helens town centre, Taylor Park, Derbyshire Hill Youth Centre, King George V playing fields in Sutton and London Fields playing fields in Billinge.

The parks were initially brought to local schools at the end of term at Lyme, Eccleston Mere, Holy Spirit and Eaves primary schools, Haydock Sports College and Penkford School.

Any young people wishing to take part in any of the events must have a completed parental consent form available from the Youth Action Zone (YAZ) website.

The Parr Youth Only Zone is closing for repairs during this time, but there are still plenty of activities available for young people, including sports activities at Nanny Goat Park between 7.30pm and 9.30pm until August 31.
