POLICE have confirmed that a St Helens youth, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Birkenhead, will not be facing any charges in connection with the incident.

A 49-year-old man suffered a single gunshot wound to his back in Birkenhead on Wednesday, April 18.

The 17-year-old from St Helens was arrested in July before being released on bail. Police now say he will not face charges.
