AN opening date has been set for a homeware store that will locate in a former supermarket.

The Star reported earlier this year how The Range has signed a deal to move into the ex-Tesco store at Chalon Way.

It will open on October 26, creating 150 part-time and full-time jobs, ranging from store and department managers to warehouse and admin staff.

More than 1,500 people have already made enquiries about getting a job there. Vacancies will be advertised via the Jobcentre.

The site will be renamed as Chalon Way retail park.
