ST HELENS-based recruitment company GPW raised £1,000 for Cancer Research UK after its annual golf day.
GPW recruited the services of an interactive golf scoring system this year. The smart hand-held scorepads streamed every shot to the clubhouse and online, adding to the fun and excitement.
GPW’s Hole In One competition provided the opportunity to win a Mini car. The prize was not won this year, but a couple came close, including GPW’s own accountant Paul Carr, who came a few inches from the pin on hole four.
A sweepstake raffle raised £1,000, which has been donated to Cancer Research UK.
GPW managing director Mark Parish said: “The live scoring system made things very exciting as the teams could see where they were in the standings at every stage.”
