Helena Partnership's very own VIP mary Unsworth meets the Duke of Kent
7:00am Friday 27th July 2012 in News
NICE to meet you... The Duke of Kent shaking hands with Helena tenant Mary Unsworth watched by chief executive Rob Young.
MARY Unsworth is a bit like royalty down at Helena. She’s the tenant who dreamt up the organisation’s name when it launched 10 years ago.
So it was entirely fitting that Mary was chosen to greet the Duke Of Kent who was opening their new town centre Head Office and Your Space community hub this week.
Helena Partnerships rolled out a big community welcome as the Duke met workers, tenants and board members.
The first cousin of the Queen visited Helena Central as part of a tour of St Helens and Knowsley and chatted about their work and involvement with Helena.
After his tour of the building, a lunch and a talk with tenants, the Duke unveiled a plaque, opening Helena Central and the Your Space community resource centre.
Rob Young, Helena Chief Executive, said: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome His Royal Highness to our fantastic new building and community space. It was a real pleasure to introduce our dedicated staff, board members and tenants to him and share just some of our highlights and contribution to St Helens during our first successful decade of business.”
