TWO sports clubs are among 46 community projects in the North West benefiting from a share of the Inspired Facilities Olympic legacy fund.

Billinge Football Club’s £47,000 grant from Sport England will provide new changing rooms for its 15 teams that range from under-fives to seniors.

Meanwhile, Blackbrook Rugby and Recreation Club has been awarded £48,182 from the national lottery backed scheme to upgrade facilities.

The investment will allow the club to make improvements, including fencing a football pitch.and new disabled access for spectators.

All the facilities will carry the London 2012 Inspire mark – celebrating the link to the Games.

Meanwhile, more clubs could benefit as Sport England launched another £10 million funding round.

Bids to the next round of Inspired Facilities will be accepted until September 17. Full details of the fund and how to apply can be found at www.sportengland.org/inspired.
