Jail for burglars Paul Pollard and James Bennett who burst into Haydock couple’s bedroom

TWO burglars who burst into a couple’s bedroom late at night and demanded car keys have been jailed for six years.

Paul Pollard and James Bennett targeted a house in Avondale Road, Haydock, at about 1am on November 29 last year.

Liverpool Crown Court was told they confronted the husband and wife before stealing the car.

Pollard, 27, of Birchfield Road, Walton, Liverpool and Bennett, 27, of Bridge Street, Birkenhead, were later arrested in a vehicle stolen from a different burglary in Liverpool.

The men were sentenced to five years in prison for burglary at the Haydock address. They will also serve 12 months for aggravated vehicle taking, relating to the stolen car in Liverpool, which will run consecutively to the five year term.
