Jail for robber Alfred Brennan who targeted Temptations Beauty Salon

A MAN has been jailed for more than two years after pleading guilty to two robberies at a beauty salon.

Alfred Brennan, a 56, of Freemantle Avenue in Thatto Heath, struck at Temptations Beauty Salon, Scholes Lane on Monday, June 11.

He entered the salon and stole a woman's handbag containing money and a mobile phone as well as a quantity of cash from the till.

Brennan was arrested at his home about 12 hours after the robberies at Temptations Beauty Salon on Scholes Lane, Portico.

The woman's handbag was recovered on nearby fields a short time later, wrapped in Brennan's coat, with all its contents still intact.

DC Roy Waller from St Helens CID said: "This was an upsetting incident for the victims who were left badly shaken by the experience.

"Merseyside Police takes incidents of this nature very seriously and I hope that the sentence helps them to achieve some closure."

Appearing at Liverpool Crown Court, he was jailed for two years and nine months.
