A FUNERAL date has been set for a teenager who died suddenly at his home.
Connor Ashton, aged 17, is believed to have died in his sleep while at home in Lee Street, Sutton.
His funeral will take place at 9am on Wednesday (February 22) at St Helens Crematorium.
The amateur footballer, described as being “fit as fiddle”, was discovered by his mother Joanne, 41, who had gone into his bedroom to wake him up on Sunday, February 5.
One possibility is he may have fallen victim to Sudden Arrhythmic Death syndrome (SADs).
Speaking to the Star last week, Joanne and his dad Stephen paid tribute to a son who they say had “a heart of gold”.
Joanne, 41, said: “He was just a little boy who went to sleep and never woke up.
"There was no pre-warning – we thought he was in his room playing on Facebook. He was fit as a fiddle and had started playing open age football with Clock Face.”
