THIS year the guys are going to be tickled pink too!

For the first time men will be able to take their place on the starting line for the Willowbrook Hospice Moonlight Walk.

In a bid to raise more cash than ever for the dedicated work of the hospice team, fundraisers are 'breaking down the barriers’ by allowing men to team up with the girls.

It costs Willowbrook more than £2.6 million each year to provide specialist palliative care for our local community.

Organiser Diane Humphreys told the Star, media partners in the walk: “Since the Moonlight Walk began in 2007 our fantastic supporters have raised more than £340,000, and every penny has gone to care for local people.

“It’s fun, it’s exciting. The Moonlight Walk is a 10 kilometre sponsored walk in aid of Willowbrook, starting and finishing at Alexandra Business Park, St Helens.

“It takes you through the local roads of St Helens and Knowsley, passing Willowbrook.

“We want the Moonlight Walk to be even bigger and better this year and you can help. Walk by yourself or as part of a group.

“Your entry fee includes your T-shirt, refreshments, medal, and all the information you need to complete the Moonlight Walk. All we ask is you try to raise £100 each to help us provide our specialist care.”

The walk is on Saturday, June 23, starting at 10pm. Entry is £15 for adults, and £7.50 for children under 18.
