SAMANTHA Adamson is hoping her plunge into swimwear modelling will carry her on the crest of a wave all the way to the Red Sea.

Better known to family and friends as Samilou, the curvaceous fitness instructor from Blackbrook coasted through the last round and pulled in enough votes to put her within sight of the big prize.

The former Haydock High pupil is through to summer grand final of a top glamour competition, run by the UK’s largest model training school.

She will line up against 30 other hopefuls to battle it out for their own calendar shoot on the Red Sea in Egypt.

Samilou, 26, has been modelling for about two years but hasn’t taken it too seriously so far. “I work that many hours, my modelling has been my hobby” she says.

Now, Samilou’s out to prove she’s got what it takes to be a top model.

“I just want to achieve something different in my life. A few years ago I didn’t have any confidence and it’s built my confidence up. I train hard in the gym and I think it’s paid off” she added.

Samilou lives with partner Barry, a taxi-driver, and their three-year-old son Lincoln-Joe. Family and friends, including mum Ann and dad Stephen, are to thank for encouraging her to enter the competition and take modelling more seriously.

Samilou would love to travel the world as a swimwear model, but isn’t packing in her day job to pursue a glamorous career just yet.

“I’ll still be a fitness instructor, because it’s such a rewarding job” she adds.
