SAINTS fans are being urged to get creative and swap their rugby colours for paintbrushes, cameras, instruments and even voices to celebrate ‘Your Memories of Saints’.
A partnership project involving the Saints Foundation (SCDF), the St Helens RLFC and St Helens Council’s Arts Service, will collect the submitted artworks and digitally preserve them in a specially commissioned time capsule to be installed at the new Saints stadium.
Project organisers hope to receive entries in many different forms and formats – from paintings to photographs, or film and poems to songs.
Councillor Barrie Grunewald, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for Culture, Communications and Town Centre said: “Obviously the format lends itself to visual art, but it would be great if someone came up with a real off – the-wall submission. Anyone over 16 can get involved.”
Submissions need to be in a digital formal – like jpeg, mpeg or Word. For an application form, contact Kimberley Whitfield at kimberlywhitfield@sthelens.gov.uk or 01744 675492. The deadline is Tuesday, May 3.
