THE work and dedication at The Salvation Army hostel in St Helens has been recognised at an awards ceremony, celebrating those who work with the homeless.
Salisbury House, on Phoenix Brow, was a joint winner of the Activity and Training award at The Salvation Army’s Social Service Awards in Derbyshire.
Placing a major emphasis on sport, residents at Salisbury House make regular trips to football and rugby league games. They also enjoy camping trips to the Lake District and practical skills such as plastering and DIY.
Salisbury House also received a special mention in the Community Award section.
