A 22-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a house fire last night. Six dogs also had to be rescued from the property.
The blaze, which is believed to have been caused by a halogen heater, broke out at around 9.53pm on Thursday, February 4, at a terraced house on Hammond Street in Parr.
The woman was taken to hospital suffering from "moderate smoke inhalation", say Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. A 48-year-old man who was treated at the scene.
The fire caused damage to the living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom.
The dogs who were taken to safety by a resident and neighbours were unharmed, say the fire service.
