Swooping birds may be responsible for lamppost smash

POLICE say swooping birds may be responsible for a car striking a lamppost on the Rainford By-pass, which left a 28-year-old man with neck injuries.
The incident happened at around 12.15pm on the St Helens bound carriageway.
Paramedics took him to hospital.
