IT’S the day fans have been waiting for as New Moon officially opens…and Cineworld St Helens is gearing up for one of the biggest film releases of 2009. But do you know much of the first movie, Twilight, was filmed in St Helens?
Legion of die hard fans of the vampire love story will of course realise that it is St Helens, Oregon, USA…and not our hometown.
These ‘TwiHard’ fans of the four books by Stephanie Meyer have been gearing up to this moment for weeks, if not months, and it has had the most advanced ticket sales of any other film this year, beating Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
In case you have been living under a rock, ‘The Twilight Saga’ tells the story of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, in an action packed, modern day love story of the ultimate forbidden love - between a vampire and a mortal.
The book became the biggest selling novel of 2008 and the first movie ‘Twilight’ made its cast, Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Kristen Stewart (Bella) among the hottest stars on the planet.
The hype over New Moon has almost reached fever pitch as the Friday and Saturday night showings are already sold out at Cineworld.
However fear not Twilight fans Cineworld have plenty tickets left for other screenings, which will be on every hour.
