Investigation launched into house fire

INVESTIGATIONS are underway into the cause of a house fire, which broke out in the first floor bedroom on Manville Street, Parr last night.
A 25-year-old woman was rescued by firefighters from St Helens and Eccleston at around 11.32pm.
She was checked at the scene by paramedics after suffering smoke inhalation before being taken to Whiston Hospital.
The blaze caused damage primarily to the lounge, kitchen as well as the rest of the property.
