Hot dogs!


DON’T let your dog roast alive.. that’s the warning about leaving pets in cars on hot days, when temperatures can soar to 49C inside a vehicle.

Councillor Carole Kavanagh,said: “On warm, sunny days cars can heat up very quickly and become like an over. Dogs can be cooked alive in a matter of minutes. Just leaving a window open in not enough.”

Tips for dog owners include reminding people not to over exercise dogs in hot weather, making sure your dog has shade and fresh supply of drinking water if in the garden and a reminder that dogs suffer from sunburn as well. Owners should cover any white areas with high factor sun cream. dog goes outside.

  • Anyone who sees a distressed dog in a car should contact the police or the RSPCA on 0870 5555 999.

PM, You would be surprised how many people don't know how to keep themselves or their children safe in the sun, so you can bet any money that most people wouldn't know to put sun screen on their dogs.

As for dogs wearing sun screen, will the council be providing sunglasses for pets as well? Utter nonsense.
