THE mother of a man, who died after he was found with serious head injuries, has paid tribute to her “devoted” son.
Craig McGowan (35) died in hospital on Wednesday, June 24, a day after he was discovered at his home at Dursley in Whiston.
His death is being treated by police as murder.
Barbara Heaps said: “Craig was a loving, caring and devoted son who enjoyed life to the full.
"He lived for his beloved westie Jack and loved his music and flying his kite. He was gentle, kind-hearted, harmless and much respected within the community.
"My family and I have taken some comfort from the lovely response within the community who have paid their respects through numerous cards, flowers and wishes of condolence.
"I would like to thank the community for the love and support they have shown to her and her family. Craig will be sadly missed."
Peter Howarth (30), also of Dursley has been charged with Craig’s murder.
