THE case against a man, who sparked a six hour siege when he threatened to detonate a bomb, has been adjourned until Wednesday, July 15.
Jean Claude Rubagire is still to enter a plea in relation to several charges in connection with the stand-off at Alfred H Knight on Prescot Road on March 5.
The 35-year-old, who is believed to be from Africa, has been charged with threatening to kill two men and a woman, by exploding a bomb at the firm’s metal sampling laboratory in Grange Park.
He faces another charge of a bomb hoax. It’s alleged that Rubagire had entered the premises wearing a utility belt made to look like an explosive device.
The terrorist alert drew a massive response, drafting in armed police, the bomb squad and dozens of firefighters.
