MORE than 1,500 people have joined two Facebook sites set up in memory of teenage car crash victim Jamie Livsey.
‘R.I.P. Jamie Livsey’ and ‘R.I.P. Jamie U will be Missed’ are dedicated to the 19-year-old from Newton-le-Willows, whose funeral will be held today, Thursday, at St John the Baptist Church in Earlestown at 3pm.
The teenager died in hospital following the crash on Wednesday, April 1, when the blue Vauxhall Corsa he was driving overturned on Clay Lane, Burtonwood and landed in nearby playing fields.
The eldest of five children, with three sisters and one brother, Jamie attended St Helens College sports department and was a former Newton High School pupil.
His funeral was originally set to take place last Tuesday but it was postponed.
A GoneTooSoon web page has also been set up in memory of Jamie, featuring messages from his family and friends.
His girlfriend Stephanie Hollingsworth wrote: “Love u soo much bbe. Wil neva eva eva 4getu. Wil neva take ya pic off me wall. Love u wid all my heart bbe. Love Steph (Always w8in 4 u bbe) xxxxxxxxxxx”
And his mum Karen Livsey posted the following poignant poem to her son:
A part of me is missing
It hurts so deep inside,
I can’t get over losing you
Since the day you left my side
A part of me is missing
And we’ll always be apart,
But that won’t stop the love I feel
Deep within my heart.
A part of me is missing
It’s something I can’t replace,
Your wicked sense of humour
And that smile upon your face.
A part of me is missing
It keeps me feeling sad
You were such a special son
The best I could of had.
A part of me is missing
And there is nothing I can do
The part of me that’s missing
My precious son is you.
FOUR teenagers will remain on police bail until May 16 in connection with Jamie Livsey’s death.
A 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, all from Newton-le-Willows, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
Another 18-year-old man from the same area was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.
Police have confirmed that emergency services were alerted to the crash by an anonymous call made from a phone box.
There were no passengers in the car Jamie was driving and police say that vehicle was not stolen.
Officers are examining whether a red Vauxhall Corsa was involved in the lead up to the tragedy.
One line of investigation police are pursuing is whether either or both cars were being driven dangerously or at excessive speed.
Cheshire Constabulary has launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened around 11.30pm on Wednesday, April 1, to come forward.
Anyone who saw a blue Vauxhall Corsa or a red Vauxhall Corsa, prior to the collision being driven in Burtonwood or surrounding areas, is asked to contact police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
