A ST HELENS musician is refusing to ‘hide his love away’ for guitar playing and aims to pass on his wealth of expertise with a new local music scheme for young people.
Steve Kinsey is a director of Music-net, a local community interest group set up to help introduce people to music.
Steve is a self-employed professional musician whose 20-year career has seen him appear on Granada Reports and the Big Breakfast.
The musician is currently running the ‘Reverberate’ project at Peter Street Community Centre in St Helens, a music group for young people aged between 13-18.
Young people will be able to take part in music workshops, free rehearsals and get time in professional recording studios.
Steve started playing guitar and singing at the age of 15 and became a full time vocalist/musician with the help of the government’s enterprise allowance scheme.
