A SINGING starlet from St Helens, who has been dazzling judges at a series of high-profile talent shows, is set to perform a duet with Bee Gee Robin Gibb in London.

Sixteen-year-old Rebecca Lake beat hundreds of hopefuls to land top prize in the musical theatre aged 15 and over category in the National Festival4stars competition.

The Haydock teenager will now perform a duet with Gibb at the Sunseeker International Charitable Trust Ball - in aid of The Outward Bound Trust - at London’s Battersea Evolution on January 9.

The performance will cap a marvellous year for Rebecca, a pupil at Pendleton College of Musical Theatre in Manchester, who picked up top prize in the Talented Youngster of the Year Awards in October.

She formed an outstanding duo with pal Chloe Walker (14) to dazzle a panel of celebrity judges and guests, including Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen, at Manchester’s Palace Theatre.

They performed Tell Him, by Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, to impress judges, including Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan, Coronation Street's Bev Callard and actor/singer Richard Fleeshman, and take a cheque for £2,000.

Rebecca’s mother Deana Cunliffe (41), from Ledger Road, Haydock, said: “It has been an amazing year. Her dream is to perform as a leading lady in a West End Theatre production.”

The event in the arena of London’s Battersea Park will also include performances by Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Sharleen Spiteri and Beverley Knight.
