A NURSE left marooned when her car conked out on a flooded road wants to thank her ‘knights in shining armour’ who rode to her aid.
Lyn Brown said she misjudged the depth as she ploughed her motor into floodwater on Merton Bank Road earlier this month.
The 46-year-old from Chain Lane, Blackbrook had been on her way to work at Whiston Hospital at around 1.20pm.
She explained: “The water was across the road near the canal but cars and vans in front of me were just driving through so I didn’t think twice.
"But as soon as I hit the water, my engine died. I was so embarrassed, I turned the same shade of red as my car.
"I was sitting there for a few minutes before two guys stopped.
"They took off their shoes and shocks, rolled their pants up and wading into the water, attached a rope to the car and towed me out.
"I think they had Polish accents. After they pulled me out they drove off.”
