TEN artists from St Helens are among 50 talented Merseyside artists who are exhibiting in the Best of Merseyside exhibition.
The exhibition showcases work by the finest of the region’s contemporary artists and runs from 22nd August to 5th October at the National Conservation Centre, Whitechapel, Liverpool. Artworks range from abstract compositions to portraits and landscapes and admission is free.
The works, most of which are for sale, have been displayed at open exhibitions throughout the summer in Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and Halton.
Ten artists were chosen from each borough by art service representatives from all five areas.
The exhibition, part of the Capital of Culture celebrations, has been developed by Galleries Outside Liverpool - a group of arts development and gallery officers from the five Boroughs - and is supported by the Arts Council England.
The 10 St Helens artists are Paul Cousins, Tony Garner, Julie Vernon, Wayne Robinson, Tony Glover, Peter Nurse, Alan Smith, Mary Roscoe, Jayne Murphy and Rachel Pearson.
