Sainthood for Sister Elizabeth?

A NUN buried in a Sutton church could be made a saint by the Pope.

A dossier on Sister Elizabeth Prout will be sent to the Vatican after a mass at her tomb in the Church of St Anne and Blessed Dominic.

Shrewsbury-born Sister Elizabeth, who died in 1864 aged 43, worked in the poorest areas of Manchester teaching local children and empowering women to gain the skills to find work.

A detailed study will now be carried out in Rome before she is elevated to sainthood.
