A MAN suffered head injuries and a suspected broken arm when he was allegedly attacked by a mob of girls near St Helens Junction rail station.

Police confirmed the young man was badly beaten on Helena Road, Sutton, shortly before 8pm last Friday evening.

Paramedics took the victim to Whiston Hospital suffering from a badly swollen face and an arm injury.

An eyewitness who called the Star's newsroom alleged the attackers were a gang of girls.

Another day another attack in St Helens. What the hell is going on in this town. Hard punishment is the only way to deal with these scum bags.

And if this gang are prosecuted they would probably be given a couple of off the shelf, slap on the wrist, dont do it again or else, ASBO's. Identity protected so not to violate their human rights of course. so fear ye not ladies and gentlemen of the community we can all sleep safely a night in the knowledge that the judicial system has once again served it's purpose by protecting the guilty yet again at the expense of the innocent. Well done to Mr Lord Chief Justice, give yourself a big pat on the back for all the hard work and dedication to your role you must have put in over the years.

What a surprise - another attack in St Helens. I agree 100% with kv,-there is NO deterrent at all, justice - what justice, these creatures (even creatures is too good a word for them) know that they can get away with it time and time again. I used to be proud to have originated from St Helens, Now I'm afraid to say, that I don't want associating with St Helens and the kind of scum that we appear to have living amongst us.

We have a weak, reactive Government who repeatedly take the soft option of ignoring a problem and hoping it will go away.

Are Labour are so desperate to attract votes at the moment that they do not want to alienate anyone, including the violent criminals in our society?

Gordon Brown needs to 'grow a pair' and start to action policies which protect the people who elected Labour to represent them.

It is about time we started to feel safe, both on our streets and in our own homes.
