POLICE have issued a warning to residents after a flurry of break-ins across areas of the town.

Officers released a map showing the locations of more than 20 break-ins over the past two weeks.

The map, published on Thursday evening, shows recent burglaries which have occurred in the last 14 days in the Rainford, Moss Bank, Haydock and Newton-le-Willows areas.

St Helens Police said: "We are asking for the public to be vigilant and encourage residents to ensure front doors are fully locked, car keys are kept away from letter boxes and are out of view, and to ensure windows are fully secured.

"If residents see or hear anything suspicious to please contact the police as soon as possible. Officers will be patrolling these areas."
