AN 11-year-old schoolgirl has sacrificed her long locks to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
Hope Academy student Ruby Haynes from Newton-le-Willows raised more than £2,500 after getting her gorgeous long blonde hair lopped off on the last day of term in front of her classmates.
Her hair and the raised funds will be sent to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children with cancer.
She said: “People have been saying I’m very brave and that it’s such an honourable thing to do but I’ve not done it for me.
“It’s for all those people fighting their battle with cancer.
“What I’m doing is just a pebble in the ocean compared to what they have to go through.”
