AN alleyway plagued by fly-tipping has been cleared up again.
Residents at Berrys Lane in Parr have reported numerous occasion of fly-tipping on the alleyway.
St Helens Council attended the site on Wednesday to remove waste and the local authority has pledged to take action to clamp down on the issue.
A council spokesman said: “This area has suffered from periodic fly-tipping which - when brought to our attention - is removed by our cleansing team with the latest clean-up taking place on Wednesday.
“Residents who have to endure this type of anti-social behaviour have understandably had enough, and the council totally sympathises as the removal and cleansing process takes up valuable resources at a time when service budgets are tight.
“After speaking to local residents in the area we will look to put improvements in place, such as a new lock on the alley gates, to prevent this type of crime from occurring.
"We would also call on the public to help us in our quest to tackle fly-tipping by passing on any evidence so that enforcement action can be taken against those responsible.”
