A MAN was was left with bruises and swelling to his arm, neck and stomach after being attacked at Victoria Park.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the reported assault.
Officers received a report from a member of the public who is believed to have seen a man being assaulted at the park.
After trying to intervene, police say the man was assaulted by two unknown men causing bruising and swelling to an arm, his neck and stomach.
The offenders are described as both white, of skinny build with long dark brown shaggy hair.
One was wearing a white North Face T-shirt, dark trousers and a cross-body man bag on.
The other was described as wearing dark coloured clothing.
The attack took place shortly before 6pm on Friday, August 3.
Police are urging anyone who remembers seeing the incident and has information that could help identify the offenders, to DM @MerPolCC quoting log 879 of August 3 or to call 101.
