AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with robbery and aggravated vehicle taking following a police CCTV appeal.

Hayden Rennie from Bowland Avenue, Sutton Manor appeared in Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, June 20.

This follows a CCTV appeal launched by Merseyside Police relating to a robbery at the Four Acre Shopping Estate on Saturday, June 30.

Officers were called to the car park at the estate at 4am that morning following reports that a man had been threatened by two offenders while withdrawing cash from an ATM.

He claimed that he was told to hand over his car keys and mobile phone before the offenders drove away in his blue Ford Fiesta car, which was later found damaged and abandoned on Wigan Road, Billinge.

The mobile phone was recovered from a Texaco Service Station in Leigh around 45 minutes after the incident.

Rennie is also charged with making off without making payment to a taxi from Billinge to Devon Street St Helens.
