AN ELDERLY woman was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" after being hit by a car yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place on Warrington Road, Rainhill shortly before 4.30pm on Monday (July 16).
Police said a woman in her 80s was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to her legs and shoulder, described as "serious but non-life threatening".
The driver stopped at the scene to assist with enquiries.
A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance said: "We got a call at 4.24pm that there was a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
"We have taken an elderly female patient to Whiston Hospital."
