Man in hospital after falling from motorway bridge
EMERGENCY services were called after a man fell from a motorway bridge on Friday evening.
A man, in his 50s, had fallen off the M6 motorway bridge in Newton-le-Willows at the southbound carriageway onto Penny Lane shortly, before 8pm.
Police say he has been taken to hospital and is described as being in a "stable condition".
The road was reopened at around 4am on Saturday.
